In a bid to evoke a sense of joy that seems lacking this week, I have decided to relive a single memory, one capable of forcing the biggest smile from each travel destination I have visited thus far.

Cairo, Egypt
Finding a pair on purple sunnies on horseback in the desert on the way to see the Pyramids of Giza.



Istanbul, Turkey
Sharing life routines with a Turkish vendor at the Grand Bazaar. He ended up giving me a stained glass lamp as a souvenir.

Rome
Laughing at the Vatican soldiers in their funny uniforms.

Mauritius
The sight of an eagle ray swooping closer and closer leaving me paralyzed with fear and in a frenzy of bubbles.



Venice
Chinese tourists overcrowding the gondola and singing at the top of their lungs. Actually this one annoyed the living daylights out of me.

Madrid
Spanish flamenco ballet.

Barcelona
Walking into Jimmy Choo and leaving with a paper bag (my aunt made a purchase, not me!) but that didn't stop my sister and I from posing outside the store in true tourist fashion.

Oman
Diving into the ocean with ALL my clothes on.

Paris
The look on my mother's face when the Moulin Rouge dancers top off their tops.

London
Watching Wicked and taking the tube tipsy.



Bali
My family all being in the same place for the first time that year.

Phuket
Sitting on the side of the road and stuffing my face with street noodles.



Holidays don't just bring out the best in me. They bring out the best in the world.

Now my feet are itching to walk on out of here.
